NFL and College Football this week
College football is going strange
this year. Brian Braum for
Louisville
is not having a good
year as far as winning and losing. He is still passing for over 300
yards per
game. This is taking him off of the Heisman votes. John David Booty is
also one
of the leaders in the voting. He plays for USC which has not lost a
game.
Individual performance is important but winning ballgames is what it is
all
about. Between these two I going with Booty as I believe winners win
and losers
lose. There is no doubt that Booty is a winner.
Florida
played
LSU
Tigers to the wire. After leading LSU the entire game only to
lose in the last few
minutes of the game. That is the way it is in the SEC. The South
Eastern
Conference is the most talented conference in the county. If a team
goes
undefeated in the SEC they have really done something. Things like Georgia
beating Alabama
and then turning
around and losing to Tennessee.
Mississippi
State
picked to be one of the
lowest teams in the conference has already won 4 games beating Auburn
in the 2nd week
of
the season. Then Auburn
turns
around and defeats the undefeated reigning National Champions at Florida.
The Florida
Gators have now lost 2
games and
could very well win the SEC championship and turn around and play for
the
National Championship Again. And should be able too if they can win the
SEC
championship. And by the way Stanford beat USC in the last minutes of
the game with a touchdown pass.
And
what is going on
in the NFL. Bret Farve is playing like he is at his best and his best
is really
good. The New
England Patriots are undefeated. The Indianapolis Colts are
undefeated. But so are the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. And
the New
Orleans Saints have yet to win a game. Even the Atlanta Falcons without
the
help of Michael Vick have at least won one game. The Bengal’s
are fighting amongst themselves on the sidelines.
