The Year of the Upset

separator

There have been many upsets in college football this year. However, the NFL has not been that way. The teams that are supposed to win on paper have won a high percentage of their games. That’s why they play the game. Let’s talk back about college football. The AP polls have proven to be nothing but a big lie. Take the original #1 USC Trojans for instance, folks thought they were invincible. I really thought they were overrated. People were convinced that the Southern California team had the total package. My pick for the overall best team before the season started and even now is the previously ranked #2 LSU Tigers. Even though LSU lost to the #16 Kentucky Wildcats, I was just as impressed with how well Kentucky played. I guessed they had a little more drive in them than they would normally have considering that LSU was the unanimous vote for the #1 after USC lost. 3 OVERTMES!!! You can’t beat that with a stick. Kentucky looked really good in that game but not as good in previous games. LSU looked just as outstanding as always. It is strange that this year is known as the year of the upset because LSU just beat USC for the #1 spot by 1 vote (33-32). Then guess what, USC lost to a “41 point underdog”.
